Scubacat Turtle Cruise: Ayia Napa's Premier Catamaran Experience
Welcome to our home on the Mediterranean. We're the team behind one of Cyprus's most loved turtle watching adventures, and honestly — this isn't just our job. It's our passion, our daily routine, our reason for liking Mondays.
We're not just another boat trip. We're a day out on the water that mixes the chance of a turtle encounter with a proper BBQ, a swim at Blue Lagoon, and a coastline that doesn't quit. Most of our guests come for the turtles and end up remembering the rest of the day just as much.

Meet Your SCUBACAT Family
Our story began with a simple idea: share the turtle encounters we'd been having around Cape Greco with the people coming to Cyprus on holiday. Year after year, we've refined the route, learned the turtles' patterns, and built a deep familiarity with the bays they spend time in.
We're not just a crew that works together — we're a family. Our multilingual team (English and Greek) brings years of local knowledge plus the kind of warmth that makes every guest feel like they've known us longer than they have. Captain's expertise: Over 30 years of navigating Cyprus waters means we know the spots where turtles are most often observed. We follow a proven route — out along Cape Greco's coastline to the Konnos Bay area (often called Turtle Bay by tour operators), where most of our turtle sightings happen, then on toward Protaras with a swim at Blue Lagoon on the way back. What Makes the SCUBACAT Turtle Cruise Worth a Morning
So, what makes our SCUBACAT Turtle Cruise the one people keep recommending? It's the combination — comfortable boat, real route, real food, and a crew that's been doing this long enough to know what works.
Your Ride: A Catamaran Built for the Day
Forget cramped, old boats. Our 19-metre yacht-catamaran is spacious, stable (twin hulls = no rolling), and designed with the actual experience in mind. Wide decks for sun and shade, easy water entry and exit, yacht-style sofa seating at the front that turns out to be everyone's favourite photo spot, and a back deck where the BBQ is cooked between swim stops. Catamaran features:- 19-metre length with spacious deck areas
- Upper deck fully shaded by an awning in peak season; lower deck half-shaded
- Yacht-style sofa seating at the front — best view on board
- Easy water entry/exit platforms at the back
- Modern navigation and safety equipment
- Zero rolling at anchor — no seasickness
- Wide, multi-level decks for relaxing and taking photos
- Spacious seating between swim stops
- A real grill on the back deck for fresh onboard cooking
The Turtle Magic
We're passionate about turtles, and most of our guests are too. Our experienced crew knows the spots where turtles are most often observed in the Konnos Bay area and beyond. We've spent years learning their patterns and refining our route to maximise your chances of seeing them in their natural habitat — though, as with all wildlife, sightings are never something we can promise outright. When it works, it's quietly extraordinary. A turtle gliding along the seabed two metres below you, then drifting up for a slow breath at the surface before continuing on its way. Not a performance — just an animal going about its day, with you sharing the space for a few minutes. We prioritise responsible viewing: respectful distance, no touching, no chasing. The turtles tolerate calm swimmers; they leave when people thrash around.A Quick Word About Our Turtle Friends
We've got to be honest with you — turtles are wild animals, and they don't follow our schedule (we wish they did). Our success rate sits comfortably above 90%, our captain knows their favourite spots, and our timing is dialled in. But on the rare day a turtle decides to play hide-and-seek, we make sure the swim at Blue Lagoon, the BBQ, the views, and the good vibes on board still make it a day worth remembering. We promise our best — the turtles, well, they're free spirits. The BBQ You Can't Resist
Here's a thing we're quietly proud of: we're the only cruise leaving Ayia Napa Harbour that cooks a proper BBQ on the boat. Not pre-packed sandwiches, not a cold plate. We grill fresh meat and halloumi, served with tzatziki (the traditional Cypriot yoghurt-and-cucumber sauce), salad, bulgur (pourgouri, a traditional Cypriot side), and fresh bread — and serve it on plates with cutlery as we cruise from the Konnos Bay area toward Protaras after the first swim. There isn't a dining table for every passenger, but the food's served properly, not in paper bags — you eat where you're sitting. Dietary options: Vegetarian and vegan options are available — let us know when you book. Our chicken is certified halal, so the menu works for guests with halal requirements too. It's more than just a meal. It's the social anchor of the day — the moment when people who didn't know each other in the morning start sharing photos, swapping holiday stories, and figuring out where they're all going for dinner.

Your Turtle Adventure: How the Day Runs
Morning Magic — A 4.5-Hour Loop
A perfect start to a Cyprus day. We typically leave Ayia Napa Harbour at 9:30 am, when the seas are calmest, and the turtles are most active. Exact departure time can shift slightly through the season — check when booking. Roughly how the day unfolds:- 9:30 am — Departure from Ayia Napa Harbour.
- Coastline route — Past Agia Napa Caves, Love Bridge, the Sea Caves at Cape Greco, the lighthouse, and Royal Bay. These are the kind of cliffs and formations you came to Cyprus to see.
- First swim stop — The Konnos Bay area (the spot many operators call Turtle Bay). Around an hour of swimming and turtle spotting. This is where most of our sightings happen.
- BBQ served — Cooked fresh and served on board as we cruise from Konnos toward Protaras.
- Second swim stop — Blue Lagoon, on the way back. Around an hour in some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. Loggerhead turtles sometimes turn up here too.
- Coastline route past Green Bay, Fig Tree Bay, and along to Protaras — the eastern part of the coast, viewed from the deck. We turn back at Protaras (we don't go further toward Famagusta).
- 2:00 pm — Back at Ayia Napa Harbour.
Who the Day Suits
A SCUBACAT cruise isn't a wildlife documentary — it's a day out. Our guests are a friendly mix: families on holiday, couples, and groups of friends in their 20s to 40s travelling together. The vibe on board reflects that — music, sun, swims, food, time to relax between stops, and people who didn't know each other in the morning sharing stories by the time the BBQ's served.Included in Your €45 Adventure
What's covered:- 4.5-hour catamaran cruise (typically 9:30 am — 2:00 pm; exact time can shift seasonally)

- Swim stop in the Konnos Bay area (around an hour) with turtle spotting — first stop
- Swim stop at Blue Lagoon (around an hour) — on the way back
- Full traditional BBQ lunch cooked and served on board between the swims, with vegetarian, vegan, and halal options

Sunset Alternative — 4 Hours
A different format for a different kind of day. The sunset cruise typically runs from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for €35 (no BBQ). It's not the calmer evening version some people expect — it's livelier, with music, dancing on deck, photos at golden hour, and a serving of seasonal fruit on board. Better suited to younger groups and friends on holiday than couples looking for a quiet sunset. It follows the same two-stop rhythm as the morning trip: the Konnos Bay area first for turtle spotting and a swim, then Blue Lagoon on the way back. After the swims, we cruise slowly back toward Ayia Napa over the deep water to catch the sunset out at sea. Different vibe, same coastline — and the sunset over Cape Greco genuinely is one of the better ones in the eastern Mediterranean.
